Luke Deaver

Luke loves the practice of law and values the diversity that comes with a general legal practice. He rejects the idea that a small-town attorney cannot provide clients with the service or sophistication that they need in today’s world. Luke thoroughly enjoys advising clients through all terms of any transaction, big or small.  Luke has a unique ability to see and structure contracts and business relationships and so that his clients, rather local entrepreneurs, small business owners, publicly traded companies, franchisors, real estate developers, farmers, or ranchers, can best achieve their goals.

Luke also has an active civil litigation practice and regularly appears in trial courts across the state. He has obtained successful trial verdicts on a variety of civil matters including a multi-million judgement on a corporate shareholder dispute that he successfully defended on appeal. That appeal helped make law on the fiduciary duties owed by shareholders to their corporations. He has also successfully guided and negotiated settlements involving complicated corporate and tax matters.

However, one of Luke’s greatest joys is simply serving his clients by setting up a basic estate plan, forming their first company, or representing them in their first court proceeding. Luke started his legal practice in 2006 at a litigation firm in North Platte.  In 2011, he joined his longtime friend Nate to start the law firm in Holdrege.  Nate and Luke have owned and operated the law firm since its founding.

Luke and his wife, Becky, have eight children. They are active members of All Saints Catholic Church in Holdrege and enjoy volunteering in the community. Luke, when he has a few moments, enjoys biking, hunting, fishing, hiking, traveling, date nights with his wife and attending his children’s activities.
